Tomato Soup

Tomato soup is another favourite of mine. I like to add Croutons before serving the soup. When I started dieting (:)) long ago... I used have tomato soup with loads of croutons. My friends used to make fun of me saying " U have to change soup's name to croutons soup coz there is more croutons than tomato!!!"... Coming back to the ingredients,

1/2 kg tomatoes chopped

4 cups water

1 medium sized carrot (optional)

1 big onion

2 cloves

2 cinnamon stick

pepper to taste

1 tsp butter

2 tsps corn flour

croutons (optional)

salt to taste

Melt Butter in cooker. Fry cut onion. Add tomatoes and carrot along with 4 cups of water. Add spices and salt. Close the cooker. Leave it medium for one whistle. Remove from heat and let it cool down. Once its cool, open the cooker and pour the contents through wire sieve. Transfer the content back to cooker or sauce pan.

Blend the cornflour with 2 spoons water. Add to the soup and boil for 7 minutes. Mix Pepper. Serve hot with croutons and toasted Bread.
